Notebook Acer AS5520G-402G16Mi Dual Core TL-58 1.9GHz, 2GB, 160GB, Bluetooth

Posted by Scorpiono | Personal | Friday 25 January 2008 2:29 pm

I’m getting a new laptop this Saturday, can’t wait, I’m so excited.

Acer Notebook

The thing is, on my current one, I have a totally wasted Video board (SiSM760 - no OpenGL whatever!) and well I’m quite skilled with Photoshop, and I guess, I have to thank my websites for the notebook, and my coder *niflostancu* without whom I couldn’t acomplish so much online.

Anyway, take a look, it’s like $1000 only, but hell, it worths it’s money.

ClickBooth - Affiliate program - $0 in 3days

Posted by Scorpiono | Ad companies | Thursday 24 January 2008 8:39 am

Why wait one week to see that my site won’t convert with CPA so great?

Time wasted: 3 days
Potential money wasted: $20 (edited for Matthew)
Test result: My site doesn’t convert the ClickBooth programs very well OR ClickBooth is not so great.

Give it a try, though I doubt you’ll have such a positive result, check this thread out:

ClickBooth - Affiliate program review by Scorpiono

Posted by Scorpiono | Ad companies | Tuesday 22 January 2008 3:15 pm

I’m giving ClickBooth a try - AdSense and me are not sharing the same bed anymore.. long story, I might talk about it after a while, just to make sure things will never change back.

ClickBooth is more of a CPA (Cost per action) affiliate site, they gather alot of big advertisers in the industry and they create campaigns. Sounds like a great idea to me..

CPA conversion on my sites? Not sure.. but will give it a try for 1 week.

Basically most of the offers are the “newsletter style” that I’ve been talking about. They insert their email address, I get paid - Pay per lead. That’s what I’m going for..

Will finish the review in 7 days - Subscribe to get it easier! ;)

I’ve finally built a contact form

Posted by Scorpiono | Home | Thursday 17 January 2008 8:36 am

Hurray, and congratulations to me.. I’ve finally decided to grab “Google” and search for a plugin, came across something called “Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form” - Great!

The thing is, even though the config is really easy, it’s not good if you really want to change some stuff in the PHP, which I did, and now it works.

Sting the Scorpiono with messages on http://www.Scorpiono.com/contact/ - It’s easy and well, if you really got something interesting to say, I’ll read it, I read all my emails, even spams ’cause they get interesting!

Serious reasons you can contact:
Saying “dude your cool”
Advertising on my websites
Partnership or selling me something really cool at a very low price
Bug report
Other (here comes the “whatever”)

Investing 120$ into advertising! (*It’s a wow for me*)

Posted by Scorpiono | SEO & Marketing | Saturday 12 January 2008 9:33 am

First of all, my webmaster career started by being hosted on my friend’s dedi for free, and buying domains on phone bill. Yes!

It has been obvious for me that if you don’t invest in more than just a good software (which I could have made by myself and my friend niflostancu) you won’t get very far. Meaning I’ll never cross my $10/day revenue by being a freebie junkie.

It all started with buying a hosting plan from HostGator (600 GB HDD, 6 TB BW - neat! - 10$/mo) and well after PayPal opened the doors for Romania, it all went boom and activity on my account started to go in.. mostly.. and nowdays in and out.

I’ve made 120$ by selling flat advertisement in DigitalPoint, I have a good charisma I assume an I also provide good services, combined you get that much money in few days, like I did, after a few days the thread gets saturated and no more offers start to come as people assume you sold everything out!

googlepagerank.png

I’ve invested the 120$ in link building mostly, for the SE juice:
- 60 premium directories ($50)

The initial offer was 14.99$ / link, but the guy contacted me and made his offer for $2 / permalink - ooookay, not bad, but the art of being romanian got me from $120 / 60 links, to 50$ / 60 links (under $1 per link) - Don’t ask me why, I’m born with it.

- 3 month bolded top link on a teen forum ($70)

Yes, it’s highly related, has a good keyword density, tons of indexed pages and activity on the forum. The bad part, there are quite a few links there, even though it’s site-wide.

I’ll get back to you shortly to see how this developed, I’m tagging it, “Ads $120″.

Adwords - Adulfriendfinder affiliate deceptive ads?

Posted by Scorpiono | SEO & Marketing | Monday 7 January 2008 3:28 pm
I did a search for “teen dating” on Google US for one of my websites, and well.. I’ve seen the sponsored link and wondered what it’s about, so I clicked.

I have seen “google.co.uk” as URL set for a “teen dating” related website? *woot?!*

Adwords - Adulfriendfinder affiliate deceptive ads?

Adultfriendfinder has the best paying affiliate network in the dating industry. The main reason I’m not using AdultFriendFinder is because some of my users (teens) are not over eighteen 18, so promoting it would not be ethical (or *legit*).

If people use Adultfriendfinder affiliate links on Google Adwords for a keyword like “teen dating”, I’m sorry but that’s just not good, fair or ethical whatsoever, I’m thinking about warning Google AdWords about this..

The Rubicon Project - accepted! PART II

Posted by Scorpiono | The daily www | Sunday 6 January 2008 4:55 pm

They have emailed the second day, and well I have created my account really easy.

Basically Rubicon will optimize the ads from several major Ad Networks (including AdSense) and will give you a code, the same way AdSense does. You do not have to provide any information about your AdSense,Addynamix, etc accounts.

I will not use Rubicon because:
- When they display Google Ads, they look ugly, I’ve tested it on MyLOL and we have our own ad optimizing script that blends the colors really well according to the username’s template
