ICANN is screwing up the internet

I’m getting into “domain market” lately, at least starting to get informed on the issue, and I was talking few hours ago with my very good friend Rez (gamecheats.eu) about domain market.

He pointed out that ICANN is going to allow from 2009 registrations such as:
.nyc
.paris
.yourname
.nokia
.microsoft

I was shocked, I mean, I can register TLD’s ? Not making much sense but if possible the big fishes of the domain speculation market will invest alot in this and mostly they will go for typos in the TLD’s, hopefully ICANN will be strict with approval.

    it is quite expensive to register your own tld. So the boom will not be so high, I think.
