Hello all, my name is Drewz and in the first place I would like to thank my friend Scorpiono for the invitation to write an article on his blog.

I am going to write about one of my first websites and the selling process on sitepoint. I started a fan site for soccer player Cesc Fabregas www.cescfabregasfan.com in August 2008, it ranked no.1 for the main keyword in 2 months and started producing revenue from Adsense(not so much), link sales (page rank 4) and advertising for a company specialised in selling soccer equipment.

I go to the point where I needed some money very quickly and I had to sell the website, sitepoint was the place to do it http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/44281 .Thanks again Scorpiono for the advices on the selling proces(description, pictures about revenue and trafic etc.).
After some time the first bid apeared with a lot of questions from potential buyers. The final and winning bid was for 550$(i expected a bit more, but per total it was a fair price), the payment was done by Paypal very quickly and nice, the winner was a good feedback one from previous auctions he won.

In the final part I want to share some advices:
1)its imposibile for a website not to be successful if you work on it and be fair to users

2)never give up, raking on google and other search enghines is done in time not in a day or two

3)page rank=money, pr 5 is very easy after pr5 its pretty hard to get higher

4)never make made for adsense websites, they make a bad reputation for the web and for the information culture.

5)talk to other webmasters(not only for links), change opinions be in touch with the industry

6)when selling a website, bring all the proof you can on traffic and revenue, dont pe cheap on words make a big discription and a story about the website.

7)wait for the bids they will come, answer questions seriously, do not rush for private bids telling to bin at a lower price than the one set.
